Timberborn - Update 3

Posted by Daimos on 15 December, 2022

Finally, the next Timberborn update has been released! Update 3 is now available for download on Steam.

Official details about the update: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1062090/view/3642880119681331392

Unfortunately, the update makes maps and existing saves incompatible, so you'll have to start the game from scratch. Nevertheless, there are some interesting changes ahead.

New and finally dedicated warehouses

Storage is changing radically. We have 3 types of warehouses available, where each differs in size:

  • Pile, which hold 20, 180 and 1,800 units of goods, respectively,
  • Standard warehouses with capacities of 30, 200 and 1200.
  • Tanks with a capacity of 30, 300 and 1200

Small versions of all buildings occupy only one field. In warehouses, we can choose the specific resource we accept and also demand it, so that beavers will try to transfer resources from other warehouses. Interestingly, each type has a limited type of resource we can allocate:

  • Piles can store one of the following: Logs, Dirt, Planks, Treated Planks, Scrap Metal, Metal Blocks.
  • Tanks: Water, Biofuel, Catalyst, Maple Syrup, Medicine.

The rest of the raw materials can be stored in the warehouse.

So it got a lot more interesting, but that's not the end of the changes in the update.

Return of materials from demolished buildings

In short from now on:

  • Once the building is demolished, it will leave some materials that can be collected by builders.
  • The amount of return depends on the level of difficulty, easy is 90% and the rest 75%. You can modify this percentage for a custom game.
  • If you demolish an unfinished building then you recover all the materials already brought in.

Others

  • We said goodbye to the Golems, from now on they are called Bots and have changed their appearance.
  • The migration panel has been modified.
  • A new look for some buildings, in order to give more variety to different factions.
  • F10 to take a screenshot in my documents (subfolder Timberborn\Screenshots) and CTRL+F10 enlarged screen.
  • Recipes can now be selected from a drop-down box instead of moving the arrows.

Many other minor fixes, all described in the official update. At one point, the developers of the game left an interesting note:

Hidden some beaver secrets in the game. Who will find them first?
