Forza Horizon 5 - The Hot Wheels expansion is coming soon!
The long-awaited first major expansion pack will soon be available on all platforms (PC, Xbox, Steam). Expansion includes new cars, tracks and biomes as well as new elements in the track editor.
The premiere of Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels is scheduled for July 19 (Tuesday). The release date has already been announced a month ago and everything indicates that nothing will change. The add-on will be available for free to players who have the Premium edition or the Expansion Pack. Otherwise, the price was set at $ 19.99
What is already known about Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels?
There are already some news, videos, and interviews with the game's developers. The expansion pack is presented as a breathtaking adventure in the clouds over Mexico. Providing twisted routes, high speeds and an even more extensive route editor.
We already know that 10 new cars will appear with the expansion. The map editor will gain as many as 80 new elements, and the new world will contain sky-high routes in various biomes.
The new world of Hot Wheels
Extreme and fast routes in the new world, according to the creators, constitute 200 km of routes straight from Hot Wheels. Twisted tunnels, loops, magnetic routes and much more.
The new orange tracks visible in the available gameplays remind me of Track Mania and if everything goes in the right direction, together with the route editor, my biggest expectation will be fulfilled - a real combination of these two games. For those who have never played Track Mania, I would like to say in short that a simple map editor that allowed you to create sky-high and twisted routes and a large community held this title for years, because we had new content created by players all the time. Combining all of this with one of the best racing game on the market could turn out to be quite a revolution for the FH5. Permanent routes sooner or later get bored, as it was in FH 4. If players are able to create creative locations without limits, and the physics on these routes will be at a good level, then perhaps the Hot Wheels extension will be enough for us for months or even years.
When it comes to the world of Hot Wheels itself, there are four new biomes that are significantly different from each other. These will be Giant's Canyon, The Ice Cauldron, Forest Falls and Horizon Nexus. We will have the pleasure to race between rocks, glaciers, in forest scenery and on the Nexus sky routes.
To allow players to quickly start in the new world, the expansion will be available immediately after completing the prologue. An additional convenience will be unlocked fast travel to any place on the map, from the very beginning, without the need to collect boards.
New campaign and coop mode
For the first time in the game, everyone will be able to start the new Hot Wheels campaign in co-op mode from the very beginning. New races and challenges await us. As announced by the creators, there will be as many as 28 achievements, providing a total of 500 points. In addition, 10 more will appear in the base game with Update 10.
New Hot Wheels cars
With expansion we will also get 10 new cars. Models that were mentioned in the latest news from the official Forza website:
- 2018 Chevrolet Hot Wheels COPO Camaro
- 2012 Hot Wheels Bad to the Blade
- 2013 Hot Wheels Baja Bone Shaker
- 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II
- 2021 Hennessey Venom F5
- 2019 Brabham BT62
- 2006 Mosler MT900 GT3
- 2020 SIERRA Cars #23 Yokohama ALPHA
- 2018 SUBARU WRX STI ARX Supercar
There are 9 items in the list, so what is the 10? While browsing other websites, I also came across the model: 1993 Schuppan 962CR
Map editor
Together with the Hot Wheels expansion, we will get 80 new elements that are to connect in a new, easier way thanks to the improvements introduced in the EventLab editor. Unfortunately, there is no detailed information on this topic yet, but while browsing the screenshots from the game, we can already have some idea of these elements.
